Medhavi Peiris 

Consul General of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Toronto 

Medhavi Peiris is a Sri Lankan diplomat currently serving as Consul General of Sri Lanka in Toronto, Canada. She began her tenure in Toronto in March 2026. With fifteen years of experience in the Sri Lanka Foreign Service, she has served in several positions both in Colombo and overseas.  

Before taking up her current post, she served as a Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka. During her service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Lanka, she worked on matters related to Human Resources, Latin America and the Caribbean, the United Nations, and Human Rights. 

She has also served at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Sweden and the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates. 

Ms. Peiris holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and public policy from the University of Colombo and has completed postgraduate studies in Public Administration and Management.
